Denise Mina 1966 yılında Glasgow'da doğdu. Hemşire olarak çalıştıktan sonra, Glasgow Üniversitesi'nde hukuk okudu. Daha sonra aynı üniversitede kriminoloji konusunda öğretmenlik yapan Mina, şimdi tüm zamanını kitap yazmaya veriyor.
